High School Soccer Referees Association

of Greater St. Louis

A Little Bit About Us:

The purpose of the HSSRA is to provide soccer referee services to the high school districts in the Greater St. Louis Metropolitan area in Missouri. This area includes: St. Louis City and County, Lincoln, Warren, St. Charles, Franklin, and Jefferson Counties; and as far south as Farmington. We provide services to over 120 schools covering over 4,500 games per school year. 85% of the games are played in the 4:00 PM time slot with the remainder after 5:30 PM daily and weekends. Due to an extreme shortage of soccer officials we use a 2 man system at all regular season games.

All officials in our association are required to be registered and licensed as soccer officials by the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) headquartered in Columbia, Missouri. This affiliation also provides a membership with the National Federation of High Schools and provides for liability insurance when working sanctioned high school games. Several of our officials work MLS and A-League games.

While we provide ongoing training at more advanced levels at our membership meetings and MSHSAA sponsored mechanics clinics, the HSSRA is not a training organization for new officials. We assume you have some experience at the youth level before submitting an application to us. If you want to work youth games but don't know where to start, E-mail us, and we will forward information to you.

The playing seasons for High School soccer runs from the last week in August to the end of October (fall boys season) and from the end of March to the end of May (spring girls season). State playoffs start after regular seasons end.
